ARIS LIANG
PRODUCER AND CINEMATOGRAPHER
Aris Liang is a filmmaker specializing in producing, cinematography and lighting design based in Boston, Massachusetts and Vancouver, British Columbia. They are currently pursuing their BFA in Media Arts Production at Emerson College. As a queer person and the child of Chinese immigrants, they have a strong interest in stories revolving around identity, self-discovery and intergenerational relationships.
Their most recent producing projects are Grace, Wallaby Drew’s Wild Adventures, Something’s Wrong With Kit, MFA thesis film Fever, and Platyboy, an original superhero film that they also wrote and directed. They have worked on over twenty productions in two years at Emerson. Outside of narrative film, they have also worked on independent music videos and corporate projects.
Aris brings a unique perspective to their projects due to their background in teaching, having been an instructor at an award-winning film and acting program for ages 7-19 in Vancouver since 2019. They are currently in pre-production for their BFA thesis film, Baby Bird, which will begin production in January 2025.
